The East Bay's "Best Uphill Bike Ride"
The Mount Diablo Challenge, sponsored by CA Technologies, is a family-friendly 11.2 mile timed bike ride, starting at Athenian School in Danville and climbing up Southgate Road 3,249 feet to the summit of Mount Diablo. Cycling enthusiasts compete and prizes are awarded for several categories in a ceremony at the lower summit with food and beverages for all.
Riders of all ages are welcome to join in this event! Riders can compete on any type of non-motorized bicycle, including tandems, uni-cycles and hand powered vehicles.
All proceeds benefit Save Mount Diablo’s land conservation efforts to create a national park-sized wilderness in your backyard for you, wildlife and future generations to enjoy.
